The Southeast District of Ohio High School Baseball Coaches Association selected a senior all-district team for the West and East.

A total of 10 local players were honored in the coaches voting that is for seniors-only.

Ironton Fighting Tigers catcher Jon Sites and first baseman Clark Cooper were first team choices in Division III on the West team.

On the East, Chesapeake Panthers outfielder/pitcher Andy Clark, Fairland Dragons shortstop Ryan Boso, and Coal Grove Hornets third baseman/pitcher Josh Fields and shortstop Tim McClean were Div. III picks while in Div. IV Symmes Valley Vikings catcher Anthony Owens and shortstop Noah Henson were chosen to the team.

In Div. II, Rock Hill Redmen outfielder Tyler Virgin and South Point Pointers shortstop/pitcher Jared Waggoner were named to the West team.

Owens was selected to play in the All-Ohio Series as the Div. IV representative. Mike Turner of Whiteoak was the alternate.

Symmes Valley Vikings coach Rusty Webb was the district’s Div. IV East coach of the year.

Other district Coaches of the Year are:

Div. I East – Ron Janey, Logan; Div. II West – Washington Court House’s Rob Smith; Div. II East – Gallipolis’ Brack Houche; Div. III East – Adena’s Ed Yates; Div. III West – Tim Martin, Minford; Div. IV East – Chris Medved, Paint Valley.

Also picked for the All-Ohio series were Wheelersburg’s Josh Newman and Wellston’s Brent Ewing in Div. III, Athens Andrew Coble and Washington Court House’s Todd Brown in Div. II, and Logan’s Wayne Bateman in Div. I.

Logan was the All-Ohio Coach of the Year.
