This time, Murphy’s Law worked in reverse. Everything that could go well, did.

At least things went well all night for the St. Joe Flyers as they bounced the South Gallia Rebels 77-53 Friday on Senior Night.

"Everything we did we did pretty well. We shot the ball well the first half (15-31). We were taking the ball to them,’ Flyers coach Kevin Sheridan said. "We played a complete game for a change and we had good balance."

St. Joe (3-12) had five players in double figures for the first time this season led by Chris Laber with 15 points and seven rebounds and Danny Stack with 15 points and three steals.

Joey Laber added 14 points and eight rebounds, Bill Dressel got 13 points and five assists, and Kyle Johnson chipped in 11 points.

Kyle Mooney scored 14 points to pace South Gallia (3-13).

Chris Laber had six points and Stack five the first quarter as St. Joe bolted to a 20-6 lead.

Dressel, who had all his points the first half, got 10 in the second quarter as St. Joe built a 38-25 halftime cushion.

"We talked to them about coming out the second half and playing well. We’ve haven’t been in a situation this year when we had the lead at halftime, but we came out and scored 22 and then we guarded well," Sheridan said.

Joey Laber had 10 and Chris Laber seven the third quarter as the Flyers lead grew to 60-29.

Johnson was 8-of-11 from the line the fourth quarter and Shawn Hacker had all six of his points as St. Joe put the game away.

"We shot the ball well, but it won’t show up because we were 2-of-12 the fourth quarter," said Sheridan.

St. Joe was 25-of-61 from the field for the game for 41 percent, but nearly 47 percent prior to the fourth quarter.
