Bishop Watterson 42, Ironton 8

IRONTON — Walter Green ran 11 times for 110 yards and three touchdowns as the Columbus Bishop Watterson Eagles beat the Ironton Fighting Tigers 42-8 on Friday.

Andy Elberson ran 10 yards for a touchdown and Green had a 1-yard scoring to put the Eagles up 14-0 in the first quarter.

Ironton (5-2) had a touchdown run by Patrick Lewis called back on a penalty and another scoring opportunity stalled at the 11-yard line when backup quarterback Tristan Cox was sacked for an 8-yard loss.

Elberson ran 17 yards for another score as Watterson (4-3) went up 21-0 at the half.

Mike Vlahakis ran 30 yards with a fumble on the second play of the second half and the Eagles lead 28-0.

Ironton had 115 yards passing but just 64 rushing.

 

Chesapeake 26, Fairland 19

PROCTORVILLE — The Chesapeake Panthers rallied from a 19-7 deficit to beat the arch-rival Fairland Dragons 26-19 in an Ohio Valley Conference game on Friday.

Jacob Collins ran seven times for 121 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Panthers (3-4 2-0). Nate Jones added 92 yards on 19 rushes.

Fairland (3-4, 1-1) went up 19-7 on a 40-yard pass from Chance Short to Kyle Sowards to start the second half. But Collins ran 63 and 43 yards for touchdowns for a 20-19 lead.

Brandon Clagg’s 41-yard interception return with 5:27 left sealed the Panthers’ win.

Chance Short was 15 of 23 for 140 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Dragons. Sowards ran for 58 yards and caught four passes for 76 yards.

 

Symmes Valley 56, Sciotoville East 14

SCIOTOVILLE — D.J. Miller ran seven times for 115 yards and also returned a kickoff for a score and Alec Herrell had 85 yards and four touchdowns to lead the Symmes Valley Vikings to a 56-14 rout of the Sciotoville East Tartans in a Southern Ohio Conference game on Friday.

The Vikings (6-1, 2-0) rushed for 474 yards as a team and Tyler Rowe hit 4 of 5 passes for 74 yards including a 37-yard TD strike to Herrell.

Herrell also returned a punt 76 yards for a score.

Symmes Valley led 35-0 at the half and 42-0 after three quarters.

 

South Point 41, Rock Hill 7

SOUTH POINT — D’Angelo Palladino ran for 155 yards and two touchdowns as South Point gave Rick Marcello his first career win as the Pointers beat the Rock Hill Redmen 41-7 in an Ohio Valley Conference game on Friday.

The Pointers (1-6, 1-1) got three scores from its defense. Gage Townson scooped up a fumble and ran 53 yards for the Pointers’ first score, Larry Brandon had an 11-yard interception return for a touchdown and Jacob Damron returned a fumble 64 yards for another score.

South Point had 185 total yards and Rock Hill had 171 yards.

Chance Blankenship ran 16 times for 92 yards and Shane Harper had 78 yards on 22 carries for the Redmen (0-7, 0-2).

 

Waterford 41, Green 18

WATERFORD — The Waterford Wildcats scored 35 points in the fourth quarter to beat the Green Bobcats 41-18 on Friday.

Hutner Munjas scored four touchdowns with three coming in the fourth quarter, one on a 15-yard interception return. Austin Lang had a 34-yard interception return for a score in the fourth quarter.

Green (3-4) led 12-6 after three quarters on a 56-yard run by Robbie Applegate and a 27-yard scoring pass from Chris Applegate to Kyle Frazier.

But the Wildcats (2-5) scored 35 unanswered points to lead 41-12 with 3:36 to play.

Levi Mollett scored on a 25-yard run for Green with 16 seconds to play.
