IRONTON — The Rumpke Mountain Boys will play a free concert at the EndZone Saturday. The show will begin at 8:30 p.m.
Based out of Cincinnati, the band uses bluegrass instruments to play all sorts of music, from traditional mountain music to reggae and classic rock hits by artists like Pink Floyd and Tom Waits, band manager Jason Huckaby said.
“The repertoire is huge,” Huckaby said. “With the originals and the covers it’s close to a thousand songs.”
The band played at the EndZone a few months ago and will play in Huntington for St. Patrick’s Day.
What the band is most known for is late night sets at music festivals.
At one festival, the band started playing at 1 a.m. and didn’t stop until 10 the next morning, Huckaby said.
“Most of the calls are for late nights,” Huckaby said.
The band’s most recent album was released about a year ago. The next project will be a live album.
