Another long-time Ironton business is shutting its doors.
Pat and Mary Fannin, owners of Fannin’s Hallmark at 2029 S. Third St. have announced the closing of their business with a liquidation sale now in progress.
In a prepared statement, the couple said the closing would be “soon” but did not give a specific date.
Fannin’s Hallmark has served Ironton and the immediate vicinity for more than 41 years. The store opened under the name of Fannin’s Papers N Prints on Nov. 21, 1971, in the former Russell T. Spears Pharmacy building.
After a fire in 1982, the business was re-opened as Fannin’s Hallmark in July of 1983. Hallmark Cards, Inc. designated Fannin’s Hallmark as a “Gold Crown Store” in 1986.
“As we look to the future, we cannot help but also look back with thanksgiving for how God has truly blessed us. We have had so many wonderful and faithful customers through the years. We want to take this opportunity to thank each and everyone for their continued patronage. Our sincere gratitude is extended to all of our present and past employees for their dedication and diligence in helping us serve our community,” the prepared statement said.
