RIVERSIDE -- John D. Duffy, 80, of Riverside passed away on Thursday, May 23, 2002.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Joann Hart Duffy, on Aug. 14, 1999; his brother, Thomas E. Duffy, in 1992.
He is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, William B. and Mary Duffy of Dayton, John D. and Deborah Duffy Jr. of Dayton, James Michael and Monica Duffy of N. Ridgeville; a brother, James P. Duffy of Springfield; three sisters-in-law, Bernice Duffy of California, Helen Fletcher of Ironton, Sister Mary Ruth Hart of Rochester, Minn.; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Franklin and Dorothy Hart of Ironton; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was a former member of the Calvary Cemetery Board of Directors; and a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters. He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Army.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Helen Catholic Church, 5100 Burkhardt Road, Riverside, with Father Paul F. DeLuca, celebrant. Intermet will be in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of mass on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, those who wish, may make donations to the Carroll High School Tuition Assistance; or a favorite charity.
Tobias Funeral Home in Dayton is in charge of the arrangements.
