Eight people arrested Friday evening by Hanging Rock police for running an illegal methamphetamine lab were arraigned Monday afternoon in Ironton Municipal Court.

Michael Chatfield, 30, of 150 Daniel Drive, Hanging Rock, was arraigned on charges of manufacturing and cultivating illegal drugs, permitting drug abuse and possession of criminal tools. Judge O. Clark Collins set bond at $150,000 and appointed attorney Warren Morford to represent him.

Katie Horsley, 31, of 148 Township Road 283N, Ironton, was arraigned on charges of administering or manufacturing a controlled substance and possession of criminal tools. Collins set bond at $150,000 and appointed attorney Carol Jean Hampton to represent her.

James Hay, 18, of 52 Apache Way, Argillite, Ky., was arraigned on charges of manufacturing or cultivating illegal drugs and possession of criminal tools. Collins set a $150,000 bond and appointed attorney Gene Meadows to represent him.

Amber Hay, 19, also of 52 Apache Way, Argillite, was arraigned on charges of administering or manufacturing a controlled substance and possession of criminal tools. Collins set bond at $150,000 and appointed attorney Philip Heald to represent her.

David Ritchie, 19, of 506 Chinn’s Branch Road, Wurtland, Ky., was arraigned on charges of manufacturing and cultivating illegal drugs and possession of criminal tools. Collins set bond at $150,000 and appointed attorney Samantha Fields to represent him.

Melissa York, 27, of Wurtland, was arraigned on charges of administering or manufacturing of a controlled substance and possession of criminal tools. Collins set bond at $150,000 and appointed attorney J.T. Holt to represent her.

Aaron Dillow, 34, of 7304 Township Road 80, Bellville, was arraigned on charges of manufacturing and cultivating illegal drugs, possession of criminal tools and a bench warrant out of Morrow County. Collins set bond at $150,000 and appointed John Kehoe to represent him.

Earl W. Horsley II, 33, of 36 Mound Park Greenup, Ky., was arraigned on charges of manufacturing and cultivating illegal drugs, possession of criminal tools and tampering with evidence. Collins set bond at $200,000 and appointed Scott Evans to represent him.

All eight people must return to court Thursday for preliminary hearings.

They were all arrested over the weekend at Chatfield’s residence. Authorities, acting on a tip, raided the Chatfield home and found the meth lab — the third one this year in the county.
