PEDRO -- An early morning accident took the life of a Rock Hill High School student Wednesday when her car collided head-on with a school bus.

According to the Ironton Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Kelly Gladeau, 17, of Ironton, died when she lost control of her silver 1990 Toyota Corolla and hit the school bus driven by Gene Adams, 52, also of Ironton, around 7:30 a.m. Wednesday.Gladeau was prounounced dead at the scene, and Adams sustained minor injuries. There were no students on the bus at the time of the crash. The accident occurred approximately 1.6 miles west of State Route 93 in Elizabeth Township.

Pine Grove Road was closed for more than an hour as the Patrol, the Elizabeth Township Volunteer Fire Department and Southeast Ohio Emergency Medical Services attended to the crash.
