HURON, Ohio (AP) - A northwest Ohio couple is awaiting their soldier son's return to a U.S. hospital after he suffered broken legs and shrapnel wounds when someone attacked his Army camp in Kuwait with a grenade.

Carol Holden said she got the phone call she was hoping wouldn't come at about 4:30 a.m. Sunday. A lieutenant colonel was on the line saying her son, Greg, was seriously injured in the attack on the 101st Airborne Division.

''As a parent, you always worry, but he was doing the profession that he loved,'' she said.

Carol and Gary Holden went to bed that night knowing about the hit on their son's camp but unsure whether he was OK.

''We'd seen it on the news where the 101st had had a grenade go into the officer's tent,'' she said. ''We knew Greg was at Camp Pennsylvania, we knew he was an officer.''

The attack at the Kuwait base killed one soldier and wounded 15, three seriously.

The Rev. John Mawhirter, the Holdens' pastor, said Greg Holden was at a hospital in Kuwait and had undergone three operations.
