In a doubleheader Saturday, Symmes Valley blanked Belview 5-0 as Lori Harmon fired a no-hitter. The second game was a tough 6-5 loss to Northwest.

"It was a good weekend," Vikings coach Jeff "Odie" Estep said. "Lori and Kristen pitched really good games, we got some timely hitting, and we won three games and could easily have won four."

Symmes Valley led Rock Hill 5-4 when it erupted for eight runs in the sixth inning. Kayla Bowman smacked a three-run double to highlight the uprising that including four walks and two errors.

Crabtree just missed a no-hitter when she gave up a one-out single to left field in the seventh inning as Symmes Valley blanked Western 12-0. She struck out 10 and did not walk a batter.

The Vikings had another 8-run inning against Western, this time in the second as they combined three walks, three errors, and a two-run double by Rebecca Capper.

Against Belview, Harmon struck out 14 and walked one as she pitched her masterpiece.

The game was scoreless until the fifth inning when the Vikings scored twice.

Jodi Black singled with one out, Ginny Young walked, Cassie Myers put down a sacrifice bunt, and a wild pitch scored Black. Young came home when Harmon singled.

In a three-run sixth, Holbrook walked, Kayla Bowman doubled, and Mandy Estep had a two-run single. Estep moved up on a fielder's choice, took third on a wild pitch, and Black grounded out as the run scored.

Northwest pushed across a run in the seventh inning to nip the Vikes 6-5.

Down 2-0, the Vikings rallied in the second as Capper walked, and Erin Martin and Crabtree singled for a run. Young reached when her ball deflected off the pitcher's glove. That scored both runners and it was 3-2.

The Lady Mohawks got two runs in the fifth, but the Vikings answered with two in their half of the inning.

Estep singled, Stephanie Burns was safe on an error. Holbrook was safe on an error as Burns scored. Capper reached base on an error as Burns scored.

But Northwest got a run in the sixth to tie the game and scored the winning run in the seventh.
