COAL GROVE- Coal Grove residents will soon be getting surveys in the mail. Village officials and Ironton-Lawrence County Commun-ity Action officials hope people will fill out the short questionnaire and drop it back in the mail, postage paid.

The results of the survey could help the village obtain government funds for water facilities improvements.

CAO Community Development Director Ralph Kline said people will be asked about the size of their family and will be asked to indicate the income category of their household.

"The information will be used in the application of Community Development Block Grant monies," Kline said. "We need a good response to legitimize the survey sample."

The number of low to moderate income households is key to receiving CDBG funding from the state.

Village leaders are applying for $125,000 in CDBG funds to install two air strippers for the water treatment plant. The total project is $304,000.
