FRANKLIN FURNACE - This one was for the girl.

The girl in this case was veteran senior Meagan Pierce who celebrated Senior Night with a 53-43 win over the Symmes Valley Lady Vikings Thursday in a Southern Ohio Conference game.

"It's nice to get a win period, but it's nice to get a win for Meagan," Green coach Melissa Knapp said. "But all the girls played well and they played hard. They just continue to get better."

The game was tied 11-11 at the end of the first quarter as Floyd scored 11 points for the Vikings and Hall got eight for the Lady Bobcats.

Green held the Vikings to three points in the second quarter to go up 21-14 at the half.

Floyd got six more points in the third quarter as Symmes Valley closed to within 31-27.

But Hall scored eight in the fourth quarter as Green opened up as much as an 18-point lead. The Lady Vikings tried to stay close on a 7 of 10 shooting effort from the foul line. Floyd made four foul shots and a 3-pointer as the Vikings tried to battle back.

The two teams meet again at 4 p.m. Saturday at Symmes Valley in a varsity-only game.
