AID - It was two wins for the Symmes Valley Lady Vikings. It was 200 for Jeff "Odie" Estep.

The Symmes Valley Lady Vikings picked up two Southern Ohio Conference wins Saturday by sweeping the Beaver Eastern Lady Eagles 1-0 and 7-0. The wins gave Lady Vikings coach Jeff Estep 200 career victories.

"To have a good program, you have to have good players and good parents. I've been fortunate to have both," Estep said. "And you have to have good help. Chuck Renfroe is a great coach. He would be a great head coach for anyone else. I'm glad he's stayed right here."

The wins were highlighted by outstanding pitching. Kristen Crabtree fired a five-inning perfect game in the 1-0 first game win, and Lori Harmon had a one-hitter in the nightcap.

"Crabtree did an excellent job. She had a very good first outing for us. She worked the ball around and threw strikes," Estep said. "We got two great pitching performances."

The Lady Vikings got the only run of the first game in the second inning.

Jodi Black walked to start the inning, Megan Coomes singled, Crabtree walked to load the bases, and an out later Stephanie Burns singled to left.

Crabtree struck out 11.

In the second game, Harmon struck out 16 and did not walk a batter to get the win.

The Lady Vikings got the only run they needed in the first inning when Rebecca Capper and Harmon walked, pulled off a double steals, and a passed ball scored Capper.

The lead went to 3-0 in the second inning.

Megan Coomes and Black singled to put runners on the corners. A passed ball scored Coomes, Brittany Scott walked, and Cassie Myers hit into a fielder's choice as Black scored.

Symmes Valley got two runs in the third inning to make it 6-0.

Erin Martin leadoff with a single and took third on two wild pitches. Coomes walked and Black singled for a run. A wild pitch scored the second run.

The final two runs scored in the fifth inning. Martin singled, Coomes walked, both moved up on a wild pitch, and Kayla Bowman doubled them home.

"We seemed to be a little flat," Estep said. "It wasn't pretty, but it was two wins and it was

two a conference win,s" Estep said.
