Civil War history will be on display Saturday at the Lawrence County Historical Museum.

The 91st Ohio Volunteer Infantry, Sons of Union Veterans, will have an encampment on the lawn of the museum.

A display of Civil War-era artifacts, doll making and Appalachian music will also be on display. The parlor of the museum will feature such displays as the local Civil War soldier's roster. The purpose is to give visitors an opportunity to see what life was like for Civil War-era soldiers.

"We hope those who come learn more about the Civil War era and the people who lived then," event co-chair Bob Price said.

At 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. local writer Brenda Hay-Cade will perform "The Widow's Gift," a play she wrote about a woman who participates in the Underground Railroad.

At noon and 3 p.m. historian Jimmie Epling will discuss the life and hardships of camp life for the Union soldier.

At 1 and 4 p.m., Kevin Waldo will portray Abraham Lincoln delivering The Gettysburg Address.

Camp Ironton will be 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.
