PROCTORVILLE - Down but not out.

Kristen Berry and Jennifer Legg have been sidelined all season with injuries, but they came off the bench in the fourth quarter Thursday to ignite the Fairland Lady Dragons 55-52 come-from-behind Ohio Valley Conference win over the River Valley Raiders.

"For Kristin and Jennifer to just come out on the floor was a big lift. They showed leadership. They were the big difference in the game," Fairland coach Nathan Speed said.

Fairland (2-2, 1-0 OVC) trailed by 10 points heading into the fourth quarter. But Brianna Davis erupted for 17 points including 5 of 5 from the foul line to lead the comeback win.

The Lady Dragons were 11 of 19 from the line in the fourth quarter as they outscored the Raiders 27-14.

Davis finished with 28 points and also had eight rebounds. Erica Smoot added 9 points while Kara Riley grabbed 11 rebounds.

"Erica Smoot did a good job coming in off the bench, and we cut back on our turnovers quite a bit. Brianna had a great game. She's been playing great all year long," Speed said.

The game was marred by fouls. River Valley was 29 of 39 from the foul line while Fairland was 17 of 33 for the game.

River Valley took a 10-7 first quarter lead as Christina Naylor had 6 points. Davis had all of Fairland's points.

Ashley Caldwell scored 8 of her 17 points in the second quarter as River Valley pulled away to a 28-16 halftime lead.

Riley had 4 points in the third quarter and Fairland was able to cut the deficit to 38-28 heading into the pivotal fourth quarter.
