BURLINGTON - Maybe it's something in the air.

A South Point woman was arrested late last week after allegedly trying to steal more than $500 in underwear and cosmetics from the Wal-Mart Supercenter in Burlington.

Tina Adams, 30, of 359 County Road 1, was charged with petty theft, obstruction of justice and resisting arrest and was lodged in the Lawrence County Jail.

According to a sheriff's office report, store employees observed Adams going through the aisles placing items in her buggy.

At one point, she allegedly selected a duffel bag from a store shelf, went to the lawn and garden section and placed the numerous items in the bag, placed the bag on the lower shelf of the buggy and then proceeded through the checkout without paying for the duffel bag and its contents.

The report stated that Adams was detained at the store, authorities found $466.05 in panties, bras, cosmetics, holiday gift tags and other items in the duffel bag.

While being processed at the jail, a deputy found Adams to be in possession of a waist cincher and eight other items also allegedly stolen from the store. The total value of all items allegedly taken by Adams amounted to $515.13.

That same day, Cory Baughman, 22, and Maria Baughman, 22, both of Huntington, W.Va., were charged with theft after they allegedly attempted to steal a pair of shoes and several pair of underwear from the Wal-Mart Supercenter.
