Russell helps rally Redmen

FLATWOODS, Ky. β Russell was done in by Russell.
Shane Russell hit two home runs including what proved to be the game-winner as the Rock Hill Redmen beat the Russell Red Devils 8-7 Thursday.
βIt was a good all-around team effort. Hopefully it will all carry over to our next game,β said Redmen coach Barry Litteral.
Rock Hill took a 1-0 lead in the second on a solo home run by Russell.
The Red Devils tied the game tied the game in the third and scored four times to lead 5-1 after four.
The Redmen cut the deficit to 5-3 in the sixth.
Jeremy Blagg and Jonathan Schob doubled and Russell walked to load the bases. Drew Jenkins hit a sacrifice fly and Alex Bare had an RBI single.
The Redmen took an 8-5 lead with five runs in the seventh.
Kidd singled to start the inning and pinch-runner Laden Delawder moved up on a hit by Cody Massie. Blagg singled for a run and Schob had a two-run double. Russell capped the rally with a two-run homer.
The Red Devils (5-14) got two runs in the bottom of the inning before Josh Malone retired the side to end the game.
Rock Hill had 13 hits with Russell and Kidd going 2-3 and Blagg, Darby and Schob 2-4.
Rock Hill (12-8) visits Green Friday.
