FRANKLIN FURNACE - Team won out over individual.

Kaylee Helton scored 40 points for the Lathan Western Pike Lady Indians, but it was the team effort of the Green Lady Bobcats that produced a 67-59 Southern Ohio Conference win Thursday.

"We were evenly balanced on the offensive end and we needed that," Green coach Melissa Knapp said. "Helton is a heck of a player. She stepped back and shot her 3s, and then she drove to the basket well. But they only had three other players score, so that was big for us."

Green outscored Western 16-11 in the second quarter as Pfleger had 6 more points and it was 31-25 at the break.

Hall and Williams scored 6 points each in the third quarter to offset 11 points by Helton as the Lady Bobcats upped the lead to 48-39.

Helton erupted for 16 points in the fourth quarter, but Williams had 8 points for the Lady Bobcats who held on for the win.
