KENT - Jason Edwin scored 17 points and hit all four of his 3-point attempts, including one to stop a second-half Marshall rally, to lead Kent State to a 75-66 win on Saturday night.
Kevin Warzynski led the Golden Flashes (13-6, 5-3 Mid-American Conference) with 20 points and Armon Gates added 10.
For Marshall (3-13, 0-7), A.W. Hamilton scored 20 points, Tre Whitted had 18 and Mark Patton had 11 points and 15 rebounds.
Kent State roared to a 42-22 halftime lead with Edwin hitting his only two 3-pointers while the Thundering Herd were making just 30 percent of their shots from the field. But Whitted's 3-pointer with 1:58 remaining cut the Marshall deficit to 67-61.
Edwin, however, hit a 3-pointer with 1:25 left and Scott Cutley's two free throws pushed the lead to double figures with less than a minute left.
