Men charged for alleged meth lab

HANGING ROCK — Hanging Rock Police arrested four men Thursday night after officers discovered an alleged mobile meth lab in the vehicle they were in.
“(Police) stopped a vehicle that had some suspicious things they thought were meth-related,” Sheriff Jeff Lawless said. “Our officers assisted and found there was some drug material.”
The Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation was called in to test the material to determine its contents, Lawless said.
Arrested were:
• Charles Bond, 49, of 2842 State Route 335, Portsmouth, charged with possession of drugs Schedule I or II; possession of drug abuse instruments, possession of drug paraphernalia and two counts of manufacturing and cultivation of illegal drugs.
• Randy Stevens, 42, 1513 Sixth St. Portsmouth, charged with possession of drug abuse instruments, possession of drugs Schedule I or II, possession of drug paraphernalia, and two counts of manufacturing and cultivation of illegal drugs.
• Charles Price, 40, of 2121 Vermont Ave., Portsmouth, charged with possession of drugs Schedule I or II, possession of drug abuse instruments and two counts of manufacturing and cultivation of illegal drugs;
• Danny Brown, 43, 2121 Vermont Ave., Portsmouth, charged with possession of drugs Schedule I or II, possession of drug abuse instruments, possession of drug paraphernalia and two counts of manufacturing and cultivation of illegal drugs.
All four are in the Lawrence County Jail and set to be arraigned at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Ironton Municipal Court.
