The Ironton man accused of setting his house on fire with an explosive device was arraigned Monday in Ironton Municipal Court.
Todd Terkhorn, 23, of 1747 Kevin St., was arraigned on one count of first-degree felony aggravated arson, one count of second-degree felony illegal manufacture or processing of explosives and one count of inducing panic.
He was originally charged only with the count of aggravated arson. The other charges were added later.
Ironton Municipal Court Judge O. Clark Collins imposed a $200,000 cash bond and ordered Terkhorn to appear July 19 for a preliminary hearing.
Meanwhile, Ironton firefighters were called back to the Terkhorn residence Saturday morning to extinguish a reignition.
"A mattress in one of the
bedrooms reignited. This is one of the things that can happen in a fire and it did happen," Ironton Fire Capt. Mike Mahlmeister said. "It was a minor thing. One of the neighbors saw smoke coming from out and we went back in and found it."
Terkhorn was arrested Friday after allegedly setting a fire with an explosive device. The second floor of the house sustained considerable damage, according to Ironton Fire Chief Tom Runyon.
Components of a second explosive device were found in the console of a vehicle on the Terkhorn property. A bomb squad was called in from Columbus to handle that device.
Terkhorn remains in the Lawrence County Jail.
