COAL GROVE — The Rock Hill Redmen needed some offense, so they just went and got it.

Rock Hill took an aggressive approach offensively and hit 60 percent of its shots en route to a 62-47 Ohio Valley Conference win over the Coal Grove Hornets on Friday.

“We had some spots with turnovers, but we were more aggressive offensively. We played well as a team. I was happy with all our kids effort,” said Rock Hill coach Bob Wilds.

Trey Wilds had a big all-around game for the Redmen with 22 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists.

Andy Knipp added 14 points and 7 rebounds while Will McCollister had 12 points, 6 rebounds and 2 steals. Drew Kidd also had 12 points to go with a pair of steals.

“(Trey) was more aggressive going to the basket,” said coach Wilds. “Andy Knipp got in some foul trouble and Andrew Schwab came in and gave us some good minutes.”

Alex Bare scored 12 points and Conor Markins had 10 to lead the Hornets (10-5, 3-4).

Trey Wilds scored 10 points in the first quarter as Rock Hill took a 16-8 lead.

McCollister and Wilds combined for 8 points in the second quarter to help offset 6 points by Bare and it was 28-2 at the half.

Knipp and Wilds scored 6 points each in the third quarter as Rock Hill (8-8, 3-4) pulled away to a 45-32 lead.

Kidd scored 7 points in the fourth quarter including 4 of 4 at the foul line and McCollister was 2 of 2 at the line as the Redmen hit 6 of 10 attempts to seal the win.
