CHESAPEAKE — It was just too much Amanda Ruffner.
Ruffner scored a season-high 31 points to go with six blocked shots and four assists as the Chesapeake Lady Panthers beat the Gallipolis Blue Angels 51-36 on Monday.
“Amanda played an exceptional game on both ends of the floor,” said Lady Panthers’ coach Chris Ball.
“You have to give credit to Ruffner for her talent and the hard work she puts in. But the other girls did a good job of getting her the ball. Everyone played their role well.”
Jordan Porter added 11 points and 10 rebounds as Chesapeake (10-3) won its seventh straight.
Kendra Barnes led Gallipolis with 11 points.
Ruffner scored 8 points in the first quarter as Chesapeake took a 12-10 lead.
The Lady Panthers outscored Gallipolis 11-10 in the second quarter as Ruffner had 10 of Chesapeake’s points and it was 23-20 at the half.
Chesapeake’s lead went to 35-29 as Ruffner scored 9 points in the third quarter.
The Lady Panthers began to pull away in the fourth quarter as they outscored the Blue Angels 16-7. Barnes had 5 of Gallipolis’ total.
