- The South Hills Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF) will be conducting an ultimate team-up deer bow hunt for disabled hunters on Oct. 20-22.

The hunt is sponsored by Accent Health Care of Coal Grove. The chapter is seeking participants for the event.

The NWTF is a not-for-profit conservation organization with 550,000 members nationwide.

The Federation's Wheelin' Sportsmen outreach program affords disabled people opportunities to participate in many outdoor activities. An ultimate team-up event pairs a disabled person with an able bodied person.

The hunt will be headquartered at Frank Fulks' farm on State Route 217, east of Scottown. The event will begin with registration of hunters and guides at 11 a.m. Thursday.

Lunch will be served at noon and the hunting will begin. Hunters and guides will return to the farm for dinner and photographs immediately after dark.

Participants will hunt all day Oct. 21.

On Oct. 22 hunting will end at noon and a pig roast and event celebration will begin at 1 p.m.. The public is invited to attend the afternoon's festivities for $10.

A $500 compound bow and other valuable prizes will be given away. A silent auction will also be held to offset some of the expenses of the hunt.

An Ohio hunting license and deer permit are required to participate.
