A Russell, Ky., man charged with felonious assault was among those arraigned last week in Lawrence County Common Pleas Court.

Jonathan England, 19, appeared before Lawrence County Common Pleas Court Judge Frank McCown, who set bond at $7,000. England will be back in court Nov. 9 for a pretrial conference.

An Ironton woman arrested on several drug charges was also arraigned last week.

Teresa Meek, 46, 2224 N. Sixth St., pleaded not guilty to fifth-degree felony trafficking in crack cocaine, fourth-degree felony trafficking in crack cocaine, fourth-degree felony complicity to trafficking in crack cocaine, fifth-degree felony permitting drug abuse and fourth-degree misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

Her attorney, David Reid Dillon, asked McCown to set a low bond for Meek, given her health and establishment in the community.

&#8220She's 46, she's a lifelong resident, she's not a flight risk,” Dillon said. &#8220She's not a danger to anyone. She has medical issues. We ask for her to be released on an OR bond. She has pets and there is no one to care for them.”

McCown set bond at $10,000 cash and scheduled a Nov. 19 pretrial conference.

Also last week, Michael Chatfield, 23, 1735 Waldo Drive, Ironton, was arraigned on two counts of fifth-degree felony theft and one count of third-degree felony grand theft.

After Chatfield entered a plea of not guilty, McCown set bail at $7,500 and scheduled a Nov. 9 pretrial conference.

A Kitts Hill man facing a burglary charge was also arraigned Wednesday. Dustin Siders, 23, 2211 County Road 105, pleaded not guilty to the second-degree felony before Lawrence County Common Pleas Court Judge Richard Walton.

Siders was released on a $25,000 own recognizance bond.
