GALLIPOLIS — Being good early and good late was good enough for the South Point Lady Pointers.
The Lady Pointers used a good start and a good finish to beat the Gallipollis Blue Angels and post a 55-39 win on Wednesday.
South Point placed three players in double figures led by Allison Mitchell who had a game-high 19 points. Erin Dillow scored 14 points and Brett Justice had 13.
Kendra Barnes and Chelsey Sloan scored 9 points each to lead the Blue Angels (1-9) who lost their seventh straight.
South Point jumped in front 20-8 in the first quarter and stretched the cushion to 33-19 at the half.
Gallipolis cut the deficit to 40-30 after three quarters before the Lady Pointers hit 5-of-7 from the foul line and outscored Gallipolis 15-9 in the fourth quarter to seal the win.
The Lady Pointers were 15-of-19 at the foul line while Gallipolis shot 26 but converted only 14.
South Point does not play against until Thursday, Jan. 5, at Coal Grove.
