PEDRO — Some things never change.
In what seems to be a reoccurring theme, the Fairland Lady Dragons edged the Rock Hill Redwomen 1-0 Wednesday in an Ohio Valley Conference game.
Megan Auxier pitched a two-hitter to get the win. She struck out six and did not walk a batter.
Rock Hill’s Bobbi Harper gave up just five hits, struck out six and walked only one.
“It was such a good game. It seems like Rock Hill and us battle every time we play,” Fairland coach Leroy Baise said.
“Bobby Harper pitched a heck of a game, but Megan did, too. She didn’t walk anybody and the defense played well.”
The only run of the game came in the fourth inning.
With one out, Megan Auxier and Marie Stewart singled. Auxier stole third base and Stephanie Graham came through with a run-scoring single.
Fairland, 11-1 and 5-0 in the OVC, visits Chesapeake Friday. Rock Hill, 9-5 and 3-3, hosts South Point.
