PROCTORVILLE — The congregation of Finley United Methodist Church in Proctorville will present a live Christmas Nativity on Dec. 22 and 23.
The pageant will begin at 7 p.m. nightly. “Tell Me the Story of Jesus,” an outdoor dramatic performance has been performed at several locations in the Proctorville area. This year, the Nativity will take place at the Lawrence County Fairgrounds, County Road 107.
The setting is Bethlehem of Judea over 2,000 years ago. The program features singing of traditional Christmas Carols and contemporary music.
Members of the Rome Ministerial Choir will join the congregation in singing special selections. Costumed characters, including angels, wise men and shepherds will act out the Christmas story.
A cast of more than 60 men, women and children will perform. Live instrumental and solo performances will be set in front of a custom built stable. The church first performed this Nativity in 1998.
The public is invited to this free family event. Hot chocolate will be served during the show by members of the Teresa Chapter Order of Eastern Star Lodge. The show will go on in spite of snow.
