It’s part preview and part game.
In a game that will benefit the Ohio High School Athletic Association, the Ironton Fighting Tigers will play at Circleville Logan Elm at 6:30 p.m. Friday in a preseason exhibition game.
Proceeds for the game will go the OHSAA Foundation for scholarships. The game is part of “Service Week” as various exhibition games throughout the state will go toward the statewide foundation.
“I know it’s an exhibition game, but it’s a great opportunity for our kids to play,” said Ironton coach Mark LaFon. “It’ll be game-like conditions, so I’m sure the juices will be flowing and we’ll play hard.”
Tickets for the game are $3 for adults and $2 for students and will be available at the door.
Rumpke will be the sponsor for the game and will make a special contribution on behalf of both schools. Fans in attendance will receive a special coupon that can be used at either of Rumpke’s locations in Ironton and Circleville.
