SOUTH POINT — Carvaka has gotten a new home. The management company that handles non-profits in five states has built a new structure to house its local operation.

“While there are people on the ground providing services, here at Carvaka we provide all their human resources. We provide IT, finance, all management, marketing,” said Bianca Sexton, executive communications director for Carvaka. “You cut down on the expense that the individual agencies have to concur. We try to find out what the need is and work to meet that need with the resources available.”

The new Lawrence County offices are down from Carvaka’s old location, both on U.S. 52 across from Lowe’s, and are more than doubled in space.

“We outgrew our old building and knew we would have to add on or build a new one,”

Sexton said.

Locally, Carvaka is linked to the work done by NECCO such as NECCO Safe Spot and the residential center near Lake Vesuvius.

“Here in Ohio, there is a need for therapeutic foster care and residential training,” Sexton said.

An open house will be scheduled later.
