Ironton family arrested after bust

Think your complaints about possible drug activity in your neighborhood doesn’t get attention?

Think again.

Acting on complaints about suspected drug activity in the 1500 block of South Fourth Street in Ironton, local authorities arrested three people Wednesday morning and confiscated drugs, money and a stolen handgun during that drug raid.

Christopher L. Martin, Sr., 46, is charged with complicity to drug trafficking as is his wife, Paula Martin, 44.

Their son, Christopher Jr., 19, is charged with trafficking in drugs. All three people list an address of 1524 S. Fourth St. They were all taken to the Lawrence County Jail.

The investigation and arrests were the work of the Lawrence County Drug and Major Crimes Task Force, of which the sheriff’s office, Ironton police and prosecutor’s office are all members.

“The Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office actively pursues illegal drug activity throughout this county,” Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Jeff Lawless said. “We are diligent in our efforts to rid our community of drugs and to make our county safer for all citizens.”

During the raid, authorities found cocaine, marijuana, cash, a stolen gun and several drug-related items.
