CINCINNATI (AP) — Take me out to the ballgame, take me out to the crowd — though not necessarily in Cincinnati.

Cincinnati Reds officials say attendance at Great American Ball Park fell short this year and say the team’s poor play was a factor.

Facing their eighth straight losing season, the Reds drew about 2,058,000 fans to home games, just a hair above last year’s tally. They had hoped to sell 2.4 million tickets.

The Reds ranked 24th out of the 30 major league teams for attendance.
