Few changes in OHSAA football playoff divisions assignments

The Ohio High School Athletic Association only does an enrollment count every two years which means there is little change in the division or region assignments for the football playoffs.

The Ironton Fighting Tigers will be back in Division 5 as they look to defend their 2024 state championship.

Other local teams in the division are Coal Grove, Fairland, South Point, Portsmouth, Oak Hill, Lucasville Valley, Northwest, Nelsonville-York, Piketon, Meigs, River Valley, Zane Trace, Wellston, Alexander, Minford, Amanda Clearcreek and Harvest Prep.

Heading up Division 6 locally are the Rock Hill Redmen and Chesapeake Panthers.

Other key teams are Martins Ferry, Reedsville Eastern, Huntington Ross, Adena, Chillicothe Southeastern, Paint Valley, Fort Frye, Kirkland, Sugarcreek Garaway and Coldwater.

The Symmes Valley Vikings and Green Bobcats are back in Division 7 along with Sciotoville East, Portsmouth Notre Dame, Beaver Eastern, South Gallia, Racine Southern, Trimble, Federal Hocking. Manchester and Waterford.

OVC member Gallipolis Gallia Academy will again be in Division 4. Other area teams in D4 are Waverly, Vinton County and Unioto.
