Marlene Jo Arthur, 87, of South Point, passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at home.
Marlene was born June 10, 1937, in Ashland, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Charles and Barbara Johnston Cahal.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Amos Arthur; her daughter and son-in-law, Kelly and Paul Copley; a son, Harold Dean Arthur; a sister, Phyllis Brown; and a brother, David Cahal.
Marlene worked as a veterinarian assistant for years and was on the South Point Village Council for 30 years.
She is survived by her son, Donald “Billy” Arthur; daughter-in-law, Joy Arthur; three sisters, Betty Salyer, Patsy May and Debra Queen; eight grandchildren, Colton (Bethany) Copley, Caleb (Amy) Copley, Letitia Arthur, Christina Nease, Melissa Arthur, Randall Ratliff, Amber Ratliff and Beth Henry; 15 great-grandchildren, Adyson, Kota, Korie, Andie Kate and Kip Copley, Cam, Maddon Taylor, Carson, Charlie, Nahla Robinson, Austyn Nease, Karmen, Kylynn Bruton, Dylan Tussey and Rylee Tussey; two great-great grandchildren, Cashton Liam Nease and Cayson Maddox Pringle; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Wallace Family Funeral Home, South Point, with Pastor Tim Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Gardens, South Point.
Family and friends may visit the funeral home from 11 a.m.–1 p.m. prior to the service on Monday, a time for shared memories and support.
