Lady Fighting Tigers get two Ripken wins

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — The Ironton Lady Fighting Tigers saved their best for last.
Trailing the entire game, the Lady Tigers rallied for 3 runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to edge the West Deptford (N.J.) Lady Eagles 3-2 on Thursday at the Ripken Experience Showcase.
Macy Harrold doubled in a run as the Lady Eagles took a 1-0 lead in the first inning.
Jordyn Ambrosius tripled to drive in a run as West Deptford (3-7) took a 2-0 lead in the third inning.
Ironton’s offense was unable to dent the plate until the bottom of the seventh when the Lady Fighting Tigers scored all 3 of their runs.
Aubrey Ferguson singled to drive in 2 runs and Jenna Compliment singled home the winning run.
Ava Bihl got the complete game win as she gave up just 6 hits, struck out 11 and walked 3.
Ferguson went 2-4 with 2 RBI, Compliment 2-3 with an RBI, Braegan Thomas 2-3 with a triple, Aubry Shavers 1-3 with a double and Kenley Neal 1-3 as Ironton had 9 hits.
Ambrosius took the loss as she struck out 6, walked 2 and all 3 runs were earned.
Erin Thayer was 3-4 and Harrold 2-4 with 2 doubles and an RBI for the Lady Eagles.

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — With 11 runs on 11 hits, the Ironton Lady Fighting Tigers might have wanted to find a casino and shoot some dice.
But the Lady Fighting Tigers were rolling up hits and runs to back the 2-hit pitching of Ava Bihl as they blanked the New Hartford (N.Y.) Lady Spartans 11-0 on Thursday in the Ripken Experience Showcase.
Bihl dominated as she struck out 12 of the 15 outs and walked just one.
Ironton (17-3) was led offensively as Aubrey Ferguson went 2-2 with a home run and 3 RBI, Kenley Neal 3-3 with 2 RBI, Miley Bias 2-4 with a double, Bill 2-3 with a double with an RBI, Aubry Shavers 1-2 and Braegan Thomas had an RBI.
Ironton took a 4-0 lead in the first inning as Ferguson singled in one run and Neal had a 2-run hit.
The Lady Tigers made it 7-0 in the second as Khamil Martin drove in a run and Ferguson slugged a 2-run homer.
The final 4 runs scored in the fourth to set up the run rule win.
Addie Way and Amelia Nimey each went 1-2 for New Hartford (1-2).
