Green becomes only the fourth defensive player and eighth player overall in Marshall history to be selected in the top two rounds of the NFL Draft.

The selection also marks the second consecutive year that the Baltimore Ravens have chosen a player out of Marshall. Green will be reunited with former Marshall running back Rasheen Ali, who was taken in the 5th round of the 2024 NFL Draft by the Ravens.

Green joins fellow Marshall defensive end great Vinny Curry and former Herd wide receiver Aaron Dobson as players selected 59th overall in the 2nd round of the NFL Draft.

Green solidified himself as one of the top EDGE players for the 2025 NFL Draft with his record-setting performance during the 2024 season when he led Marshall to a Sun Belt Conference Championship.

He then further etched his name among the nation’s best at the Reese’s Senior Bowl practices when he went viral for his ability to merge speed with power, as evidenced by a viral repetition against Oregon offensive tackle Josh Conerly before following it up with an eye-opening Pro Day performance in front of scouts and personnel from all 32 NFL teams.

Green, who celebrated the selection with family and friends in Virginia, was the 2024 Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year and put together one of the most statistically dominant defensive seasons in Marshall and Sun Belt Conference history.

The 6-foot-3, 251-pound defensive end from Williamsburg, Va., set the Sun Belt Conference single-season record for sacks with 17.0 – the last of which he secured during the Herd’s 31-3 win over Louisiana in the 2024 Hercules Tires Sun Belt Conference Championship.

That mark also tied a single-season record for Marshall University and led all FBS players in 2024.

In addition to sacks, Green led all FBS players in the following categories in 2024: sack yardage (144), tackles for loss per game (1.73), TFL yardage (155) and tackles by a defensive lineman (84).

Green was named as a First Team All-American by Walter Camp and a Second Team All-American by AFCA, Associated Press, FWAA and Phil Steele Publications.

He was also named the CFN EDGE Defender of the Year and the HERO G5 Defensive Player of the Year this season.
