Dairy Queen has announced that a groundbreaking ceremony for a brand-new Ironton restaurant will be held on Friday.
The public invited to the event, which will take place at the site, at 214 S. 8th St., at 11 a.m.
The event will feature remarks from city officials, project leaders and franchise representatives, along with a ceremonial “first dig” to officially kick off construction.
“This new Dairy Queen location represents more than just great food and treats, it’s about bringing people together, creating jobs and investing in my hometown of Ironton,” said Corby Leach, owner of the Corby Leach Company.
The new restaurant, planned to open in October, is expected to bring 25 new jobs to the area and will offer a full menu of Dairy Queen favorites from hot meals and crispy chicken baskets to soft-serve cones and the famous Blizzard Treats.
