Collision closes bridge on Saturday

KSP car crashes into SUV
RUSSELL, Ky. — The Oakley C. Collins Memorial Bridge was closed to traffic on Saturday evening after a Kentucky State Patrol car collided with another vehicle.
The accident occurred around 5:45 p.m. Saturday as the trooper was headed east on U.S. 23 for a call for service. It went through the intersection and collided with a 2017 Hyundai SUV. The occupants of the SUV reported having minor injuries and were taken to the hospital for treatment. The trooper did not report any injuries.
KSP Post 14 is investigating the accident and a KSP Collision Reconstructionist was requested and responded to the scene to conduct a thorough collision investigation, which remains ongoing.
