The top three positions for this year’s Ironton Lawrence County Memorial Day Parade have been named.

This year’s grand marshal will be Ray Jones, known for his longtime working with law enforcement and emergency services. He was last year’s parade commander. He follows his wife, Julia Jones, who has previously served as grand marshal.

The honorary grand marshal, a position always given to a veteran, will be Charles Wiseman, a World War II sailor who was also named as the 2024 Lawrence County Veteran of the Year at the age of 100.

This year’s parade commander will be Lou Pyles, serving her second time in that position.

This year’s parade is set for Monday, May 26 and will be accompanied by its regular surrounding events, such as Navy Night, the Woodland Cemetery service and the Past Grand Marshals Dinner.
