AID — Pitch perfect and Hit Man.

Brenna Tibbs pitched a 5-inning perfect game and Marley Ferguson hit a big 3-run home run as the Symmes Valley Lady Vikings blanked the Western Lady Indians 10-0 on Monday in a Southern Ohio Conference 2 game.

“The pitching and three-run shot by Marley in the third were the big things for us,” said Lady Vikings’ coach Jeff “Odie” Estep.

“I thought about using a couple of pitchers, but Brenna was just throwing so well I hated to take her out. She threw well.”

Tibbs struck out 12 as she picked up her masterpiece for the Lady Vikings (8-1, 2-0).

The Lady Vikings got a run in the first on singles by Alyssa Waugh, Ferguson and Emma Ridenour.

The lead went to 2-0 the second when Natalie Simpson walked, Kaycee Thompson singled, and Simpson scored after two wild pitches.

Tibbs led off the third with a triple, Waugh walked and Ferguson drilled a 3-run blast to left field.

In the fourth the lead went to 9-0.

Hawk and Tibbs singled, Waugh was safe on an outfield error for a run, Ferguson grounded out for an RBI, Ridenour singled for a run, and Autumn Justice was safe on a fielder’s choice to score the final run.

Thompson led off with a single, Tibbs had a one-out double and Waugh hit a sacrifice fly to drive in the final run.

Ferguson was 2-3 with 3 RBI and the home run, Ridenour 3-3 with an RBI, Tibbs 3-4 with a double, triple and RBI, and Thompson 2-3 as the Lady Vikings had 12 hits.
