Joan Lillian Ulery, 92, of Ironton, passed away on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at Harbor Healthcare of Ironton.
She was born Jan. 8, 1933, in Sunbury, the daughter of the late Gerald and Alta (Ross) Crowl.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Leo Ulery. He had referred to her as “the prettiest flower in Sunbury, Ohio.” They married Oct. 26, 1952.
Joan was a graduate of Big Walnut in Sunbury, Ohio and worked as a seamstress for several companies such as Harmon’s, Whistle Britches, and The Leader.
She was a member of the garden club and won Yard of the Month twice. Joan was in the school band playing the saxophone and was a cheerleader.
She was a breast cancer survivor, babysitter and did alterations.
Joan was known as being very social loved talking to everyone and was a very sweet and proper lady.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Gordon Bruce Ulery; and grandson, Christopher Blair.
She is survived by four children, Debra (Richard) Blair, of Corolla, North Carolina, Rick Leo Ulery, of Ironton, Scott Ulery, of Ironton, Laurie (Charlie) Roberts, of Ironton; five grandchildren, Alex (Kaylee) Ulery, Eli (Sammie) Ulery, Seth (Katrina) Ulery, Brad Roberts and Andy Roberts; thirteen great-grandchildren, Leah Blair, Jackson Blair, Jon Cooper, Max Cooper, Weston Cooper, Victoria Lynn Ulery, Landon Roberts, Gracie Roberts, Brett Ulery, Gretchen Ulery, CJ Ulery, Ashy Ulery and Abby Ulery.
Funeral services will be noon Saturday at the Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home, 518 S. Sixth St., Ironton. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery.
The Ulery family will receive family and friends Saturday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Pallbearers for the service will be Alex, Eli and Seth Ulery, Brad, Andy and Charlie Roberts.
