ROME TOWNSHIP — The Lawrence County Senior Center was packed on March 19.

The center hosted its third annual Senior Prom, which is always a popular draw.

Darlene Green, director of the center said this year’s event, which had a theme of “Under the Sea,” had 100 participants.

The event featured dancing, food and games and events lasted for hours.

In addition to the senior center’s regular staff, Green said the event was made possible through help from volunteers from the Wyngate at RiversEdge, the senior living community located just across the street from the center; and the debate club at neighboring Fairland High School.

The Lawrence County Senior Center is located at the county fairgrounds at 7755 County Rd. 107 in Rome Township and hosts regular programming throughout the year.
