UK King’s Daughters hosting Colon Cancer Madness event on March 22

RUSSELL, Ky.— UK King’s Daughters is hosting a Colon Cancer Madness event Saturday, March 22 from noon to 2 p.m. to raise colon cancer awareness and celebrate survivors. The event will take place at the King’s Daughters Pavilion, 2000 Ashland Drive, Russell and will feature:

• Informational walks with King’s Daughters gastroenterology providers

• Inflatable Mega Colon

• Take-home FIT tests and on-site scheduling for colonoscopies

• Healthy Heart with EKG screenings. Appointments are preferred, but not required. To schedule, please call (606) 408-9304.

• Additional health education

• Light refreshments will be provided.

 Colon cancer is currently the second-leading cause of cancer-related deaths in men and women in the United States. March is Colon Cancer Awareness Month.

 “We hope this event educates our community on the disease and spreads the importance of screening,” said Jessica Bryant, King’s Daughters Digestive Health and Surgical Services Director. “We are also excited to celebrate colon cancer survivors.”
