James Lake

April 12, 1949–Feb. 17, 2025

James Henderson Lake, Lucasville, passed away at home on Monday, Feb. 17, 2025.

James was born on April 12, 1949, in Ironton, to the late Thomas and Imogene (Skaggs) Lake.

He was married to Avenell (Abby) Lake for 22 years until her death.

James worked at Whirlpool in Marion, for over 25 years before retiring.

James was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Abby; sister, Doris (Franklin) Cooper, of Ironton; brother, Hobert (Connie) Lake, of Ironton; and step-children, Penny Leity, Jeffrey Tiller Sr., and Marvin Tiller, all of Marion.

James is survived by his brother, Thomas (Marjorie) Lake, Fostoria; his uncle, Elmer (Bonnie) White; and aunts, Mary Ann White, both of Ironton; and Gertrude (Dave) Bundy, of Marion.

James has numerous nieces and nephews and Malachi Cooper was a very special great-nephew.

There will be no services at this time.

Arrangements are under the direction of the McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville.
