Singers of Distinction Youth Choir celebrate 53rd anniversary

Will perform Sunday at First Baptist Church of Burlington
BURLINGTON — The Singers of Distinction Youth Choir of the First Baptist Church of Burlington will be celebrating their 53rd anniversary on Sunday with a performance at 11 a.m. at the church.
The choir was organized in 1972 by Sister Nora June Carter, who was the wife of the former pastor, the late Dr. Douglas C. Carter.
The current director, Sister Barbara Linthicum, has served for the past 38 years and she is asking all former members of the choir to come and celebrate.
At 3:30 p.m., the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Male Chorus, from Charleston, West Virginia, will be in concert for the Black History Service.
Everyone is invited to attend the concerts.
The church is located at 7475 County Road 1, Burlington.
