Two men die in Scioto County crash

Two Portsmouth men were killed in a crash in Scioto County on Wednesday.

According to the Ohio State Highway patrol, they received a call at 2:42 p.m. of an injury crash on State Route 139 near mile post 5.

They said Logan Alexander Etterling, 18, of Portsmouth, was heading northeast in a 2011 Mazda 6 when he drove left of center and struck the 2010 Ford Escape being driven Jeffrey Levi Riley, 29, of Portsmouth.

Trooper said Etterling drove left of center and struck Riley’s vehicle.

Etterling succumbed to his injuries as result of the crash at the scene. Riley succumbed to his injuries as result of the crash at Grant Medical Center in Columbus.

The crash remains under investigation.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by Rubyville Fire Department,

Clay Township Fire Department, Jefferson Township Fire Department, Ohio Department

of Transportation and the Scioto County Coroner’s Office.
