Flyers make quick work of Tartans

The Flyers settled the outcome of their Monday night game in rapid fashion by building a 25-point halftime lead as they went on to rout the Sciotoville East Tartans 62-31 in a Southern Ohio Conference game.

The Flyers (10-8, 5-2) raced to an 18-6 first quarter lead and never looked back as Wesley Neal had 6 points while Landon “Rocky” Rowe and Aiden Deborde scored 4 points each.

The lead ballooned to 36-11 at the half as Beckham Waginger, Carter Johnson, Deborde and Rowe all scored 4 points in an 18 point second quarter.

Neal scored 6 points in the third quarter with Rowe netting 4 and Deborde hitting a 3-pointer and the lead was 53-19.

East outscored the Flyers 12-9 in the fourth quarter as Kaiden Huston scored 9 points.

Mason Weber hit a trifecta and Carson Willis had 4 points for the Flyers.

Neal and Rowe had 12 points each, Deborde scored 11 and Waginger had 10 points as four Flyers reached double figures.

Neal had 6 rebounds and Waginger grabbed 5. Kia Clark had 3 assists with Deborde getting 4 steals and Rowe, Waginger and Neal getting 3 thefts apiece.

Huston had 14 points to pace East (4-14, 1-7).
