Waxahatchee, Lenderman among performers for Nelsonville fest

NELSONVILLE — This year’s Nelsonville Music Festival is set for June 20-22 and organizers have announced the first round of acts for the event.

The festival, which takes place at Snow Fork Event Center in Nelsonville, is organized by Stuart’s Opera House and over two decades, has grown into one of southern Ohio’s largest music events, drawing internationally-acclaimed acts. 

On Monday, the festival announced on their website that this year’s lineup would include Waxahatchee, the critically-acclaimed music project helmed by singer-songwriter Katie Crutchfield, whose most recent release, the 2024 album, Tigers Blood, made the top 10 best of 2024 lists of Pitchfork, MOJO and Consequence.

Also on the bill is MJ Lenderman, an indie folk and roots rock singer from Asheville, North Carolina. Lenderman, who is a member of the band Wednesday,

Earned rave reviews for his 2024 solo album, Manning Fireworks, which was also named as one of the best of the year by the New Yorker, Pitchfork, Rolling Stone and National Public Radio.

Other acts for the festival include The war and Treaty, Ocie Elliot, BALTHVS, Low Cut Connie, the Bug Club, Being Dead, Merce Lemon, Nora Brown with Stephanie Coleman, Styrofoam Winos, Jordan Smart, Jerry David Decicca and Darrin Hacquard.

Tickets for the festival are on sale now at nelsonvillefest.org. Additional artists and headliners will be announced at a future date.
