PROCTORVILLE — Home sweet home, where the Fairland Dragons can shoot outside of their time zone.

The Dragons were 13 of 30 from behind the arc including Keegan Smith who was 7 of 8 from long range as Fairland routed the Portsmouth Trojans 70-45 in an Ohio Valley Conference game on Wednesday.

Smith scored 21 points as he helped the Dragons improve their record to 15-1 overall and 10-0 in the OVC, one-half game ahead of 9-0 Chesapeake.

Cliff Fransen had 13 points and 6 rebounds, Trevor Lochow was 3 of 7 from 3-point range and scored 13 points and Brody Buchanan also scored 13 points to go with a pair of assists and steals.

Portsmouth (7-10, 4-6) was led by Dae’quan Woods with 16 points.

The Dragons opened up the game by outscoring the Trojans 21-12 in the first quarter as Fransen scored 9 points with a 3-pointer and Smith knocked down a pair of triples.

Woods and Jayden Brewer scored 5 points each and they both hit a 3-pointer.

Fairland built on its lead in the second quarter by going ahead 34-17 as Lochow made two 3-pointers and Buchanan scored 5. points.

Brewer had a 3-pointer and Woods a basket to account for the Trojans total in the quarter.

Each team scored 12 points in the third quarter and the lead was 46-29.

Lochow hit a 3-pointer and scored 5 points, Smith made a trey and Buchanan went 4 of 4 at the foul line.

Woods scored 9 of Portsmouth’s 12 points.

Fairland’s offense picked up in the fourth quarter by outscoring Portsmouth 24-16 as Smith heated up and made four 3-pointers.

Chrisshawn Dukes hit a 3-pointer and scored 7 points and Malachi Loper was 5 of 5 at the foul line for the Trojans.
