Vikings rally from double-digit deficit to beat Rebels

WILLOW WOOD — The Symmes Valley Vikings rallied back from a double-digit deficit to beat the South Gallia Rebels in a Southern Ohio Conference 2 game on Friday night.
The Vikings got a big performance from junior Tanner Corn, who hit six 3-pointers en route to a 20-point night. Ethan Smith scored 13 and Will Jones added 12.
Jones had a strong all-around game with 10 rebounds, 7 assists, 3 steals and a blocked shot. Corn had 7 rebounds, Smith had 3 steals and Bronx Carpenter had 4 assists.
Carson Stowers finished the night with a game-high 32 points, including 10 3-point field goals to lead the Rebels in scoring.
Stowers went deep 5 times from behind the arc in the first period to help the Rebels build up a 20-10 lead.
The Vikings (9-4, 3-0 SOC II) started their comeback in the second, using a 14-2 run to take their first lead of the game. Symmes Valley took the lead when Jones scooped up a loose ball and hit Smith on a run out lay up at the 2:07 mark to make the score 24-22.
Gradee Holland led the Vikings in scoring during the second with 8 points, including 2 triples during the scoring run.
